The Zibibbo Terre Siciliane PGI wine is a fortified wine, perfect for the end of a meal, or to accompany traditional Sicilian desserts.

The Zibibbo Terre Siciliane PGI wine is a sweet Sicilian wine with an intense and pleasant taste, with unique organoleptic characteristics, it has an intense yellow color with unmistakable golden nuances and has a particular aroma deriving from the dried grapes which contains all the aromas of the island .

The Zibibbo Terre Siciliane PGI wine pairs well with dried fruit, almond pastes and typical Sicilian desserts based on ricotta and marzipan. Sicilian fortified wine is also excellent as a dessert or digestive at the end of a meal.

• Alcohol content: 16% Vol
• Grape variety: 100% Zibibbo (Moscato di Alessandria)
• Classification: IGP Sicilian Lands
• Production area: Province of Trapani (mainly in the territory between the municipalities of Salemi and Marsala)
• Altitude: between 50 and 300 m above sea level
• Training method: Espalier
• Alcoholic fermentation: Initial fermentation in steel silos at controlled temperature and stopping by adding wine spirits
• Harvest period: End of August/September.
• Color: Light straw yellow.
• Perfume: Intense, persistent, fruity.
• Taste: Full and soft, pleasantly sweet with hints of honey.
• Sugar content: 120 g/l.
• Aging: Six months in steel tanks and three months in the bottle.
• Pairing: Ideal dessert wine, dry pastries and hard cheeses.
• Serving temperature: 8-12°C.

Zibibbo history:

The name zibibbo derives from the Arabic word “zabib” , which means dried or dried grapes, obtained from the late vinification of the grapes, which determines both the wine and the grape variety. The Zibibbo vine was introduced and spread in Sicily in the Mediterranean basin, in the lands conquered by the Arabs, who subsequently planted it on the island of Pantelleria.
