Irene Badalà

A century of tradition
The land from which the wine of Irene Badalà is born is located in contrada Santo Spirito in
Passopisciaro and it has belonged to his family for over a century. It is a history of wine-making
tradition that began about a hundred years ago, when it was decided to increase the production of
vines with about 3000 plants of Nerello Mascalese, a small tree.
Today, on the slopes of Etna, Irene and her husband take care of 12,000 plants. Passion, study and
work have allowed them to produce wine in the vineyard. Moreover, their method merges tradition
with new techniques and always pays particular attention to changes in the needs of their plants
